Swellendam Raw Water Pipeline

The proposal for the expansion of the raw water pipeline from Grootkloof Dam 3 towards the Hermitage Raw Water Pump Station on Remainder of Erf 1, Swellendam.

In terms of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014 (as amended), a Basic Assessment process must be followed as part of the application for Environmental Authorisation. A Maintenance Management Plan will be included in this application to allow the applicant to undertake the necessary maintenance and repair activities, if and when necessary.

Alluvia Parking Area, Stellenbosch

A parking area was constructed within 32 meters of a watercourse on Portion 1 of Farm 166, Stellenbosch, without the required environmental authorisation. A Section 24G process will be followed as part of the ex post facto authorisation for the unlawful activities.

A retrospective authorisation will be submitted in terms of Section 24G of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998), as amended, the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014 (as amended), and the Section 24G Fine Regulations, 2017.

Bodhi Park, Redelinghuys

The applicant, Bodhi Holdings (Pty) Ltd., cleared indigenous vegetation and infilled watercourses on Portion 5 of Farm Krommeriviers Valley No. 14, Redelinghuys and the Remainder 14 of Farm Krommeriviers Valley No. 14, Redelinghuys, and began constructing a dam on Remainder 14 of Farm Krommeriviers Valley No. 14, Redelinghuys without the necessary approval.

An ex post facto approval will be submitted in terms of Section 24G of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998), the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014 (as amended), and the Section 24G Fine Regulations, 2017.
